Italian Alex Zanardi was a racing driver who lost both his legs in a 2001 car crash while racing. Following his accident Zanardi took up hand-cycling, the Paralympic form of cycling. This summer saw Zanardi make his Olympic debut in the H4 hand-cycling time trial, an achievement which has earned the respect of Twitter users around the world.

Also causing a buzz on the social network today is Australian football club Sydney FC which, it was announced September 5, has confirmed the signing of footballing legend Alessandro Del Piero. The 37-year-old former Juventus player was also the target of English Premier League club Liverpool but chose to sign for Sydney FC for around $2 million.
