Microsoft Surface tablet now available

Unfortunately customers to the Store in Times Square were unable to take their new purchases away with them immediately. Although they could pay and either return later (midnight) or have it delivered the very next day. Still, this didn't seem to sully the mood as eager Surface fans were keen for Store staff to walk them through the finer points of Microsoft's debut tablet.

It was clear the good mood was infectious - earlier in the day, a clearly-excited Steve Ballmer told us: "it's not just a tablet, but it's the best tablet I've ever used. It's not just a laptop, but it's the best laptop I've ever used too."
