Iphone 5 VS Samsung Galaxy S III: A non-technical comparison and explanation. Which phone is better?

It's shiny and new - but is it right for you?

Celebrity blogger and xinmsn's resident social media chick Estelle Kiora (loveyouwrongtime.wordpress.com) explains what you're really getting with the two best smartphones in the world right now. All views expressed are personal, unendorsed, and do not represent xinmsn's own views.

TECH TALK WITH A STRANGER

"So what's up with all these changes and phones?" Is the question I asked myself aloud, as I sat in a coffee shop next to an older white male who was waiting for his wife. Interestingly, he turned towards me and smiled, and so we started chatting about his phone (the Samsung Galaxy S III) and mine (an iPhone).

OK - I probably shouldn't chat with a married man even if it was a completely innocent conversation (which it was). But that's not really the point.

My point is, before rushing into the nearest network retailer to queue for or buy the latest iPhone 5, please STOP and read this.

Not sure if homeless

A phone do what it do: making calls.... extra feature is something u can own them for.. So is all depending on which phone or brands u like.. There no such things as best phone or best brands, if there is one then it will had taking over all phones markets.... Just a point of my views..
Cheers..

I think it mostly depends on what you like and value more in terms of the funtion and features each phone has, and you'd better choose the one that best fits your needs.

i wonder how he compares the pictures when taking them in 2 different settings, and under different lighting conditions. Doesn't sound very "scientific" here....

If you're looking into music:

If you're fond of letting everything synchronize nicely; buy the iPhone. iTunes is convenient. But if you're not sure of how much memory you're gonna use for your songs, buy the SIII. The expandable memory is a great help on top of the 16GB internal memory. Other choices would include XPeria phones and any Windows phone in the market, because from my experience the Walkman and Zune have been a lot nicer to use.

Now, if you're a fan of music videos, The SIII wins hands down. It has the standard 720p resolution, like theNokia Lumia 920, XPeria S, HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD; the most common HD resolution apart from 1080p that no phone has yet to support. Within this range the XPeria S has the sharpest picture because of how small the screen is, but I still recommend the SIII because I find the video pop-up feature to be extremely useful.

Iphone is the only phone I know you can buy today and sell on eBay the next day above the market value. Galaxy SIII on the other hand, will depreciate the moment it leaves the shop. From a resale value point, the iPhone wins hands down.

"it has a higher resolution" well bitch that's to make up for the taller screen. Pixel density remains the same, so the picture is just as clear on both devices, iPhone 4 and 5. Cheap gimmick to make people upgrade.
