Viruses are here to stay, and it seems the classic virus-busting program, Norton (by Symantec) is sticking around too. Its latest version works on Windows 8 as well.

Things get a little complicated, however, in Norton’s freebies department -- we’ll take it one by one.

If you buy the basic version of Norton Antivirus for 3 PCs at $59, you get a free HP X3000 Mouse worth $39.

Now if you buy the more advanced Norton Internet Security for 3 PCs at $79, you get a free HP X4000 Mouse worth $49.

And if you buy the company’s ultimate protection service, Norton 360, for 5 devices at $119, you get a free GP Battery GL351, and Norton’s own multi-USB cable.

Phew.
