Google+ trends: McDonald’s staff allegedly assault AR pioneer for wearing high-tech glasses

Steve Mann claims someone he believes to be a McDonald's employee “angrily grabbed my eyeglass, and tried to pull it off my head."

"The eyeglass is permanently attached and does not come off my skull without special tools,” he added in a post on his blog.

The unusual story has quickly spread across the web and Google+ as people discuss issues of privacy, surveillance, and society’s reaction to the Google Glass-like eyeware.

“This is a strange and disturbing story,” say Google+ users. “If you are visiting France, here is one more reason that you shouldn't be eating at McDonalds.”

Google+ers are commenting that the Apple Store website, http://store.apple.com/, is down and speculating about what it means. “The online apple stores go down around the world, does this mean mountain lion is about to make an appearance?” they ask.
