Cyclist Lance Armstrong has been in the news after apparently confessing to the allegations of drug use that have dogged him throughout his career. In a pre-recorded interview with talk show host and global media personality Oprah Winfrey, Armstrong is alleged to have admitted to doping charges.

Though the TV show has yet to be broadcast, unnamed sources contacted news organizations including the New York Times, USA Today and the Associated Press to reveal the details of Armstrong's confession.

Elsewhere on Google+, users are talking about popular high street entertainment retailer HMV, which announced that it would be going into administration, ending the chain's 91-year-old business.

On another note, Google+ users have named today "Star Wars Tuesday" and are sharing images relating to the cult science fiction franchise.
