Google+ trends: countdown to Chinese New Year, Han Solo to feature in spin-off?

According to reports by Entertainment Weekly that emerged Wednesday, The Walt Disney Co., which now owns the Star Wars franchise, is planning spin-off projects, including one featuring Han Solo.

The spin-off would, according to reports, focus on the loveable smuggler's origin story set between "Revenge of the Sith" and the first Star Wars film ("A New Hope").  The spin-off would require a new young male lead to play Han Solo, who was initially made famous by Harrison Ford .

The same report also claims that Disney is planning a spin-off based around the story of bounty hunter Boba Fett; it is not known who will direct or feature in either of the spin-offs.

Also trending on Google+ Thursday is Chinese New Year. Though the event doesn't take place until February 10 Google+ users are already sharing their plans and ideas for celebrating the day.

This year will, as according to Chinese tradition, be the year of the snake or serpent.
