Google+ trends: Asus PadFone causes waves

The PadFone 2 follows on from Asus's orginal smartphone/tablet combination, the PadFone; both devices function as 2-1 smartphone/tablets with users having the option of using the phone on its own, or docking it to the PadFone station which then serves as a tablet.

The new PadFone 2 boasts a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, A Qualcomm quad-core APQ8064 SoC processor, a  1.2-megapixel front camera and runs on Ice Cream Sandwich, though will soon be upgraded to Jelly Bean. The PadFone docking station boasts a 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS display, a slimmed down 5,000mAh battery and weighs in at 514g.

Google + users are also buzzing about Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan who continues to be the subject of controversy. The vice presidential candidate's most recent PR failure came after it apparently emerged that a photo opportunity of Ryan washing dishes in a soup kitchen was staged, quickly causing various "Paul Ryan washing up" memes to sweep the internet.
