The online scene was alight with numerous opinions and reactions following the removal of the 'Flappy Bird' game application across all app-stores on Sunday. Among the reactions included death threats via Twitter against the game's developer, Dong Nguyen, while some people around the world were quick to cash in on the game's massive popularity by selling smartphones with the game already installed for eye-watering prices. There were also news reports of Nguyen's apparent "suicide", as well as reasons provided by Ngyuen for pulling down the game.
