“Every inch an iPad,” Apple coos about its finally-unveiled, heavily-rumoured iPad mini.

Just fewer inches – 7.9 to be exact – compared to its bigger self’s 9.7, numbers easy to remember, noted the tech juggernaut’s Philip Schiller.

But the downsizing doesn’t end there.

This nano tablet cannot boast of Retina display and its 1024x768 resolution is only on the level of the iPad 2. In fact, considering all its features, the iPad mini is a small-sized iPad 2.

And why is that a disappointment?
