What: CES is the highest profile of all the big tech expos and, although IFA is now bigger in terms of numbers, CES still claims to be "the world'€™s largest annual innovation event". Hosting 1,200 exhibitors, CES will see more than 150,000 people treading the trade show floor, hoping to get an early glimpse of all the big tech for the year ahead. Sony, Samsung, LG and Huawei are amongst the organisations readying their new kit for the world to see - although Apple and Microsoft are notable absentees.

Launched: Ultra HD and OLED TVs, Google TV, Sony Xperia Z, Nvidia's handheld console Project Shield, Samsung Series 7 ultrabook, and smart cameras and washing machines.
