Google+ trends: 'Skyfall' gets BAFTA nomination, CES causes buzz

"Skyfall," released in 2012 and starring Daniel Craig and Judy Dench, became the highest-grossing film ever at the UK box office.

Other BAFTA nominations in the category "Outstanding British Film" include "Anna Karenina" and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" while  "Argo," "Les Misérables," "Life of Pi" and others battle it out in the category "Best Film." For a full list of nominations and more details on the BAFTA Awards see bafta.org.

Also causing a buzz is tech extravaganza CES. The annual event showcases the latest in high-tech from TVs to mobile devices and connected home appliances. Though some big name players, notably Apple and, this year, Microsoft, are missing, the event nonetheless demonstrates the future of technology and is home to some of the most advanced devices in the world.

Also relating to CES is today's third-placed trending topic "#Steambox." The Steambox is a miniature gaming PC supporting Value's Steam network, reportedly "grapefruit-sized," and entry level models begin at around $499.
