Google+ trends: Google Maps for iPhone gets approval

Following the much publicized problems with Apple's own native mapping application, Google, to the joy of many iPhone users, released an iOS 6-compatible version of its Google Maps on Thursday, December 13.

The new iOS 6 version of Google Maps is thought by some experts to be superior to the Android version and features a voice-guided GPS system. Members of the Google+ community are generally praising the application and sharing news of its release. Google+ member Ryan Hill, for example, writes "You cant beat Google Maps!" while user Mark Ferguson makes the following point: "In hindsight Apple made a good decision dropping Google Maps from their stock app list. In the past they had to pay for a lacklustre iOS version. Now, with the release of the new Google maps app, they've got a better one for free."

Elsewhere on Google+ users are celebrating the fact that it is Friday and sharing pictures of, and news from, New Zealand.
