Maps
As expected, iOS 6 will drop support for Google Maps in favour of a bespoke solution built from the ground up by Apple itself - and that includes all the cartography. It spans the entire globe, integrates the new local search feature and promises to be as quick and nimble as Google Maps thanks to vector-based graphics. These graphics will transform into a pop-up 3D view of the landscape if you zoom in far enough, with support for tilt, pan and rotate, and you can even take a high-res city tour by virtual helicopter with the stunning Flyover feature. Finding businesses and services should be simple too - local search has been integrated into the app along with Yelp and over 100 million business details.
