Making his grand entrance into the world of Twitter just a month ago, the 85-year-old Pope Benedict XVI made his first tweet in English on 12th December 2012. It read, "Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart." The tweet, funnily enough, reached the maximum Twitter limit of precisely 140 characters. Within a month, he has already seen an impressive following of more than 1 million on Twitter. We foresee that Pope Benedict will likely grow even more in popularity in the year ahead, attracting the following of those seeking faith, reassurance and comfort.
