17. Honda Insight

While the current Insight is doing a much better job at securing its place in the market, the 1999 model proved too advanced for a public who could buy fuel on the cheap and who struggled to come to terms with the car's futuristic design. After Honda did much of the trailblazing, Toyota successfully swooped in with the Prius.
