The first car of the modern era, the 35HP was also the first car to bear the Mercedes name. Designed by Wilhelm Maybach and Paul Daimler, the 35HP was made by Daimler in Stuttgart. Just 36 examples were built, the racing versions of which were capable of 53mph.
