Claimed max power: 1,200bhp
Oddball German tuner Lotec first built a 1,000bhp car back in 1992: its C1000 one-off had a 5.6-litre Mercedes twin-turbo V8, good for four figures. Then it came up with the Sirius, powered by a version of the same Mercedes V12 engine that was fitted to the Pagani Zonda. The Sirius is available to buy now with a claimed 1,200bhp and 248mph top speed.
