Remember when General Motors promised that there would be an upscale version of the Chevrolet Volt? This is it. The production version of the Cadillac ELR is poised to become something much more than that. The body is now a sexy two-door coupe rather than the staid Chevy's four and we're guessing the interior will be similarly enhanced. Mechanically, the ELR will use the same Voltec powertrain as the Volt --€” a combination of lithium-ion batteries, an electric motor with 150 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque and a 1.4-litre 83-horsepower range extender. The Volt gets up to 60 km of pure 'electric' drive; whether the ELR betters those with newer technology remains to be seen.

Also look out for the Tokyo Auto Salon, the world’s largest auto exhibition, coming to Singapore for the first time in April 2013. On show will be over 200 cars, including some of the world's finest and most unique cars, as well as Japanese race Queens and J-pop Idol flown in from Japan. “LIKE” the Facebook page to find out more!
