Working towards the more recent crop of Batman feature films, the Batmobile in the 1989 movie ‘Batman’ builds on Number 1’s theory of jet propulsion. A huge turbine runs the length of the car giving stellar performance. It might only be fantasy but the filmmakers claimed a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds and a 300mph top speed with the afterburner ignited.
