While hardcore beat-em-up fans never tire of singing the praises of Capcom's Street Fighter series, we secretly always preferred the slightly less difficult (and hence, more fun) Soul Calibur from Namco.

This latest iOS port is a lovingly faithful re-creation of the original game, from the days of the Sega Dreamcast many moons ago. Sure, the touch controls are not quite as good as those offered by a dedicated fighting-game joystick, but it can only be a matter of time before somebody brings one of those essential beat-em-up peripherals out for the iPad.
