Microsoft to acquire business social network Yammer: The Wall Street Journal
“The purchase of Yammer could add more social features to Microsoft Office, which for years has been a core business for the Redmond, Wash., giant,” said The Wall Street Journal.
Yammer is a closed social network for enterprises that facilitates communication between employees. The service is often described as a “Facebook for business.”
According to Forrester Research social enterprise apps are expected to become a $6.4 billion market by 2016.
