Dropbox adds video streaming to Android app

Dropbox is an online file hosting and sharing service. The service's mobile application allows users to remotely access (via smartphone or tablet) their own documents and multimedia content as well as those shared by friends.

The video-streaming function has been made available exclusively on the Android version of the Dropbox app and was launched just a few days after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3, which came with 50 GB of free cloud storage for many buyers around the world (depending on their carrier). The video-streaming feature will later be rolled out to iOS devices.

This function may present new complications in terms of copyright issues as this mode of sharing and consuming multimedia content becomes increasingly entrenched in consumer habits.
