But what about apps designed for the iPhone 4S? The new display is designed so that existing apps play exactly as they did before - there's just a black bar at either end (about half an icon deep at each extremity). You'd think this would spoil things but in fact it's not too distracting. And in the meantime, the pluses are very strong, with video playback proving particularly impressive on the screen - widescreen movies fill the display with little or no zoom, unlike on the iPad for instance.
