Apple has already sold out of white iPad Mini
Just a matter of hours after the eagerly-awaited baby iPads were added to Apple's website, it appears that all capacities --16GB, 32GB, 64GB -- of the white and silver model have sold out in the US. While there is still stock of the black and slate version ready to ship for November 2, there is currently a two-week wait for the white tablet.
The iPad Mini is available in two colors, with three storage capacities and comes with either wi-fi or wi-fi/4G LTE connectivity. The 4G models will be released in the coming weeks and will require a subscription to a wireless carrier.
Apple is expected to sell as many as 10 million iPad Minis before the end of the year, even though many analysts think its $329 retail price is too high compared with other 7-inch tablets already on the market, such as Amazon's Kindle Fire HD. However, unlike any of its direct competitors, the iPad mini is manufactured from aluminium, not plastic, has a 7.9-inch rather than a 7-inch display and is the same thickness as a pencil. What's more it has more available apps than any other operating ecosystem.
