One of the most impressive aspects of the new PlayStation 4 is the immediacy of the thing. Not only does the power button provide a suspend and resume feature, essentially meaning that your games are always paused, there is also a secondary custom chip for background processing. This means things like game uploading and downloading in the background while you’re still playing your games.

There’s also a nifty feature whereby the PS4 learns your likes and dislikes over time. This means it will pre-download things that it thinks you will be interested in, even before you realise you are.

The result – no waiting around for things to download.
