The presentation also featured a brief glimpse at the new PS4, “always-on video compression” user interface, and the demo introduced exactly what the share button on the new control pad was for.

Sony was keen to stress that sharing is a key element of the PS4. And by sharing we don’t just mean messages, gamer points and achievements. The share button allows you to share your gameplay, quite literally.

You can share clips from your games (while at the same time still playing them) and you can also let your friends jump right into your gaming action to watch how you’re getting on. If you’re stuck, they can even take control and help you out.
