Last year, Microsoft acquired voice-over Internet service application, Skype for US$ 8.5billion. This was Microsoft's largest purchase in decades. The popular Skype service allows users to communicate with via voice, video, and instant messaging. It's main selling point was its largest user base of 663 million. Upon the company's acquisition, Skype has been slowly integrated into all Microsoft devices and systems such as Xbox and Kinect, Xbox Live, the Windows Phone, Lync and Outlook.
