The major holidays (Christmas, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day) are done and we’ve a lot of pictures to sort through. It’s nice and simple to send them off to an online print shop but what if you want to do it yourself at home? Yes, that’s right, you need one of the best photo printers that money can buy. Epson has released a volley of three good ones to choose from but there are other company fish in the printing pond.

The big trick with choosing a photo printer that’s right for you is, firstly, working out if you need this machine to print anything else. There are standalone devices or those that will print office documents as well as scan and copy too. Other considerations are the size of photographic print that you’re after. Some will do up to A3 and some no more than the standard 15 x 10cm. Fortunately, we’ve chosen a bit of everything for our best photo printers collection. Now, it’s over to you.

(The cost per photo given for each printer is an approximation based on the production of a 15 x 10cm print and also includes the price of each manufacturer’s standard photo quality paper of the same size. Figures are based on estimates from product data sheets and will vary in practice depending upon what kinds of photos you mostly produce.)
