'World of Warcraft' to receive expansion in September

Players allied with either of the game's factions, the Alliance or the Horde, will be ushered towards the lost continent Pandaria, where a new type of playable character awaits, the bear-like Pandaren.

The expansion is intentionally aimed at World of Warcraft old-timers, casual players and newcomers alike, with the panda motif expected to go down particularly well with World of Warcraft's Chinese user base.

In addition, Mists of Pandaria's release is well-timed to woo back ex-WoW players who have been checking out other titles in the Massively Multiplayer Online game genre, in particular Guild Wars 2, which launches a month prior, on August 28.
