Winter sale season hits computer game sites

Steam's Winter Sale runs from December 20 to January 5. The platform is well known for its seasonal deep discounts with up to 90% off popular titles, as well as meta-games that encourage visitors to try out new community features or take the plunge on another couple of games (and another couple more after that).

The Humble Bundle launches its seventh assortment and, as is Humble tradition, users pay what they want, splitting proceeds between developers, admins, and charities.

This time, the initial line-up consists of The Binding of Isaac and its Wrath of the Lamb expansion, extremely distinct platformers Closure, Shank 2, and the endearing, ingenious Snapshot; and those who pay over the average receive a slew of solid extras, starting off with Dungeon Defenders, The Legend of Grimrock, and Indie Game: The Movie. Humble Bundle 7 ends January 2.

Indie Royale, which is run by online game retailer Desura, have made its Xmas Bundle 2.0 available, with six games including two Serious Sam indie offerings, Colour Bind, Offspring Fling, Little Kingdom, and the superb Puzzle Bots. The offer closes on December 25.

Music sales site Groupees got in on the game bundle action with regular Be Mine and Build a Bundle offers since February of this year. The Build a Greenlight Bundle, which ends December 31, allows users to pick between two and nine games currently jostling for a place on the Steam service, including the Cannon Fodder-esque Recruits, as well as two colorful adventures in Wooden Sen'Sey and Oozi: Earth Adventure. Generous bonuses make this bundle well worth checking out.
