It's been an amazing 25 years since the very first Final Fantasy game was launched on December 18, 1987. And it's all the more amazing if you know the story of Final Fantasy - the developers named it that way because they were losing money and thought it would be their final production.

But the series has performed beyond anyone's expectations and grown into one of the greatest gaming titles ever - spawning 14 different reincarnations, many with their own sequels and spin-offs. The genre has even inspired movies and cosplay!
