Vita's 'Black Ops: Declassified' detailed in retail listings
The product descriptors, together with the game's cover art, imply an interquel taking place between the events of 2010's Black Ops and upcoming November 13 release Black Ops II.
"Before the future could be won, history had to be written. Exposing that story exclusively on PlayStation Vita, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified explores original fiction in the Call of Duty: Black Ops universe," reads the blurb.
That gives Activision a swathe of past and future history to pick from, given that Black Ops was set in the 1960s and Black Ops II is to cut back and forth between the 70s, 80s, and a not too distant 2025.
Information on the PlayStation Vita title has been scant, since it was first promised at Sony's 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo as a generic Call of Duty branded title, and even at this year's equivalent presentation, which only went so far as to reveal its Black Ops Declassified subtitle -- perhaps a tactical manouever given that Ubisoft was already showing off another Vita companion game, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation.
