'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2' makes tactical relocation to October

The focused sniping challenge is a sequel to a June 2010 game that defied a critical panning to become a retail success.

By February 2011 it had shifted 1 million copies on Windows PC and Xbox 360 formats; at the end of the year, that had doubled to over 2 million across PC, 360, and PlayStation 3.

Ghost Warrior 2 has moved on and made use of a new game engine, CryEngine 3, that should provide a significant boost to both graphics and enemy behaviors.

The delay allows for further tweaks to the game, a representative for developer City Interactive confirmed on the Steam Network forum.

Its new date sees it stake out October 9, taking up position alongside steampunk vigilante affair Dishonored, party number Just Dance 4, and strategy reboot XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Transformers: War of Cybertron recently budged up from August 28 to August 21, leaving PC online adventure Guild Wars 2 and Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita sports title Madden NFL 13 to hustle it out between themselves.
