Rockstar releases 'making of' material for 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City'

Retrieved from the Rockstar archives, a motion capture clip, a selection of original sketches, and character animations offer a look at some of the building blocks of a Grand Theft Auto game, tying in to the recent iOS and Android re-release of Vice City.

With Grand Theft Auto V not expected until spring 2013, Rockstar and publisher 2K Games are helping keep fans acquainted with the studio's output (and depositing funds into the appropriate coffers) via initiatives such as Vice City's smartphone version, PlayStation 3 downloads of PS2 games Bully and Red Dead Revolver, and the disc-based Rockstar Games Collection.

By contrast, publisher THQ has been generating interest and funds via a pay-what-you-want Humble Bundle pack featuring several core franchises, and a Facebook giveaway for Metro 2033 whose sequel is due early 2013.
