'Resident Evil: Revelations' to infest home consoles and PC in May

In a typically twisting storyline, series mainstays Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield find themselves caught up in a web of intrigue and bioterrorist infection, searching for answers and sent deep into a den of aggressive mutant organisms.

Despite a certain amount of scepticism before its launch, "Revelations" is one of the better received "Resident Evil" games in recent years, especially in comparison to "Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City," a team-based game outgunned by multiplayer modes in "Gears of War 3" and "Mass Effect 3," and the divisive "Resident Evil 6."

Additions to "Revelations" include a new difficulty mode, new tweaks and extra characters and skills for its co-op horde mode called Raid Mode, and what Capcom describes as "a terrifying new enemy."

Does "Revelations" have what it takes to make the leap from handheld to big screen? We'll find out upon its arrival at retail on May 21 in North America and May 24 in Europe. Day one digital downloads on PS3 and PC have been confirmed, and information on equivalents for Xbox 360 and Wii U is to follow.
