We don’t mind admitting that we’ve been a little cynical about Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity so far. Sure, it’s got a new protagonist in the form of dashing Frenchman Arno Dorian - and a brand-new setting in the form of 18th-century Paris, during the French Revolution - but early signs seemed to suggest that Assassin’s Creed’s first new-generation console outing wouldn’t stray too far from the series' well-worn template.
However, now that we’ve spent some quality time with the game, we’re feeling far more positive: the newly introduced four-player co-op mode is a welcome addition to the series - and it’s not the only element that shakes up Assassin’s Creed’s classic shadow-skulking, rooftop-clambering action either.
