Nintendo announces dates, prices for Wii U launch

North American gamers will be first in line, since they'll be able to purchase it from November 18. Europeans will be able to get their hands on the console and its new touchscreen controller on November 30, a few days before their Japanese counterparts, who will have to wait until December 8.

Two versions of the console will be sold, the Basic Pack and Premium Pack. The former, priced at $300 (around €230) in the US, will include a white version of the Wii U with 8Gb of storage, while the latter, a black version of the same console, will have 32Gb of storage for $350 (around €270).

In Japan, the consoles are priced at Y26,250 ($339/€260) for the white 8Gb version and Y31,500 ($405/€310) for the black 32Gb premium bundle, which includes 10 percent off digital downloads for one year.

The Japanese gaming giant has yet to announce prices for Europe.
