New Dinobot origin story in 'Transformers: Fall of Cybertron'

In Fall of Cybertron, Grimlock and his crew were already a tight-knit crew of robot warriors, but the Decepticons' mad scientist, Shockwave, gave them new forms based on his observations of ancient Earth.

He swapped some of their mental acuity for increased physical power, hoping to control them -- but then, as game director Matt Tieger reminds us, "nobody controls Grimlock."

Due August 28 in North America and from August 31 elsewhere, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is being developed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a singleplayer storyline and competitive online multiplayer.

While August is typically a dry month in the video game release calendar, Fall of Cybertron will be launching alongside Madden NFL 13, and action game Darksiders II aims to bring in a more mature audience earlier in the month.
