'Metro: Last Light' short film prepares for life underground

Sequel to 2010 release Metro 2033, the upcoming Metro: Last Light is based on the fiction of Russian novelist Dmitry Glukhovsky.

It joins a number of post-apocalyptic games set in Soviet surroundings, including Stalker (another game with links to Russian works -- Tarkovsky's film Stalker and the Strugatskys' book Roadside Picnic) and Half-Life 2.

The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title lines up alongside Crysis 3, BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider in targeting an early 2013 release; it's also one of a few titles already announced for the Nintendo Wii U.
