'Medal of Honor: Warfighter' trailer reveals multiplayer mode

As well as the required explosions, missiles, fast-roping down from helicopters, and wide variety of military hardware, there are a few hints at what's to come in the game's multiplayer.

Deployable heavy weaponry with stabilizing bi-pods, air support, and the Fire Team mode's signature team-mate outline are all in.

Slick animations are thanks to upgrades to the Frostbite engine, which was used in EA's similar Battlefield 3.

This time, Los Angeles studio Danger Close is taking care of both singleplayer and the multiplayer which was handled by Battlefield's DICE team in 2010's Medal of Honor.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter, due October 23 (from October 25 in European regions) marks the start of a two-month rush on military-themed multiplayer shooters.

Halo 4 follows on November 6 worldwide, and Black Ops II a week later on November 16. Counter Strike: Global Offensive gets a headstart on August 21 while Far Cry 3 rounds things off come December.
