Hints of 'Flick Kick' as 'FIFA 13' iOS shots hit the net

Perhaps it is a sign of the post-Flick Kick Football age that smartphone screenshots of free kicks can't help but bear a certain resemblance to the ubiquitous smartphone app -- but, of course, FIFA 13 on iOS was never going to be just about the set plays, as a batch of new screens demonstrate.

The latest selection hails from FIFA 13's most impressive iPad iteration, and in addition to the dead ball situations, show the game's main play screen -- touch controls order of the day, of course -- and close-up stills.

Like its console counterpart on Xbox 360, and PlayStations 3, 2 and Vita, FIFA 13 launches on September 25.

Once on the AppStore, it will have to contend with the aforementioned Flick Kick Football as well as more in-depth offerings such as New Star Soccer, Football Manager Handheld, Pocket League Story and Dream League Soccer, not to mention the iOS version of FIFA's longstanding rival PES.
