'Halo 4' reveals limited edition and new multiplayer mode
The Xbox 360 game's limited edition is to cost $99 (€79 / £69), and will come with a live-action Halo film, early access to multiplayer levels and skills, and a bunch of special features and digital trinkets for both game and personal Xbox avatar.
The Special Ops mode is part of the Halo Infinity Multiplayer, named after the hulking space ship Infinity that serves as base for Halo 4's Spartan warriors.
Spartan Ops will receive episodic content on a weekly basis and its missions are for up to four players to tackle together.
Due November 6, Halo 4 is an Xbox 360 exclusive, marking the start of a new trilogy with 11 years and seven games' worth of history, plus considerable Microsoft backing to fall back on.
It's also arriving just a week before annual blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops II makes its entrance, whereas Assassin's Creed III and Medal of Honor: Warfighter have chosen October launches rather than initiate a full-on turf war.
