Main character Connor is siding with the Assassins in an age-old struggle against the Templars, fighting for possession of powerful artifacts that can change the course of history.
Living in late 1700s America, the Irish-American native is brought into contact with figures such as George Washington, Ben Franklin, Jefferson, Lafayette and Sam Adams.
Historically, Redcoat commander Major John Pitcairn was felled during the Battle of Bunker Hill -- according to Assassin's Creed III, that was a result of Connor's intervention, and the interactive trailer enables players to decide how that encounter progressed, just as they can attempt to in the forthcoming game.
The main storyline of Assassin's Creed III sticks fairly close to historical fact, tinkering with it to insert Connor and his conspiratorial backdrop, unlike a planned expansion called The Tyranny of King George which supposes Washington became an evil king rather than noble president.
